Ciret are proud to have sponsored Woodies annual heroes charity event for the fourth year running.
Woodies Heroes is an annual four week fundraising event that has raised over €750,000 for four different children’s charities over the past 3 years.
The charities supported by this fundraising event are Make-A-Wish Foundation, Down Syndrome Ireland, Temple Street Children’s University Hospice Foundation and The Jack and Jill Children’s Hospice.
How it works, each of the 35 Woodies stores spend 4 weeks (starting from the 23rd July) riding a static bike in store, rattling canisters and asking for donations. Then once these four weeks are up there are two teams of cyclists who then cycle 800km’s around to all of the branches to “collect” the money raised and to thank everyone for their fundraising efforts.
Part of the fundraising efforts is sponsored by suppliers which is where we come in, Ciret has kindly sponsored the ride, a total of €1600, €2 per km cycled.
The event is already on track to smash the €278,000 raised last year and the target for this year is to take the total funds raised since 2015 to over €1 million!
