A fantastic 2019 has ended – a very busy year for all departments here at Ciret. It was a year of change, growth and new initiatives but we’re all looking forward to what 2020 has in store for us.
Here’s a little recap to highlight some of the most significant changes and the biggest achievements of 2019.
March
Having joined in December 2018 as the Operations Manager, Glen Gardaner became part of the senior management team as the new Operations Director in March. He’s responsible for all business operational functions including marcomms, DISPO, finance, warehouse & production, logistics and the day to day running of the office. Glen’s knowledge and skill set has so far resulted in innovative changes to the running of the business and has strengthened the team culture within the whole company.
April
At the beginning of the year we started to look into more environmentally friendly ways to package goods for delivery. The majority of our deliveries are now being transported in recyclable pallet boxes or cartons. Since September we can proudly say that all tape used in the warehouse has been changed to paper tape. For 2020 we’re planning to find more eco-friendly materials and solutions to reduce and hopefully replace any plastic wrapping that is still being used.
June
Ciret becomes a member of the Painting & Decorating Association (PDA). We have now joined the UK’s largest trade and employers’ Association in the painting and decorating industry.
September
September saw the year-long culmination of our plan to achieve ISO45001 (Health & Safety) alongside the established ISO14001 (Environmental) and ISO9001 (Quality). Strong leadership and employee participation in maintaining a safe workplace were the foundation blocks which helped us achieve this – a great team effort!
October
Phil Phillips joined as Commercial and Sales Director of Ciret Ltd. Phil has taken over responsibilities of the sales and product assortment departments and now works alongside Glen. His passion for and experience within sales and marketing will enable the team to take the company into a new era.
October also showcased the first episode of our monthly ‘Meet a colleague’ infographic series, introducing one member of the Ciret team every month. Since then we’ve met Ed from Accounting, Warehouse & Logistics Manager, Rachel and Customer Service Advisor, Connor.
November
The Ciret warehouse was closed from Friday 22nd until Monday 25th for the annual stock take. As a result of the great year-round efforts of the warehouse team, run by Manager Rachel, all stock take volunteers managed to get the best and and most accurate stock take on file – and even finished a day early. Great team work!
We had a successful masq product launch at the National Painting & Decorating Show 2019 which took place on the 26th and 27th of November in Coventry. The industry’s biggest annual event was the perfect opportunity to reveal our brand-new masq painters and masking tape collection. The response we got was fantastic and it was great to see so many of our customers at the show.
December
Official launch of masq – Stress Less Just masq. The team has worked hard to develop a solution for the painting and decorating industry offering eight unique tapes that will cover a wide range of masking needs. We celebrated the product launch at our Christmas party which was a fantastic night out.
What to expect in 2020?
2019 was a truly exciting and fun year but we’ve already got great plans for 2020. The painting and decorating industry can expect an eventful year full of pioneering product launches, product development, awesome shows & events, great promotions, competitions & offers, and much more.
